Objectives and Purposes
The purposes of the association are:
1. To encourage friendship, goodwill, fellowship and association with others who enjoy travelling in Australia;
2. To conduct such social and educational functions that may benefit members and attract potential members;
3. To encourage affiliation and interaction with clubs and associations with similar purposes for the potential benefit of members;
4. To act with similar bodies:
a. on matters of mutual interest, and
b. in promoting safety and knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations;
5. To do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the said purposes.
In the beginning there were many requests from travellers, or some care to be called Nomads, for a club which would provide them with support, information, regular newsletters, and also allow them to attend National and State rallies if they so desired. After much thought it was decided that the time was right for a club such as the ATCM & CC to be formed for people who didn't wish to be tied down to normal type RV clubs, to be a member of a club with all the benefits, and be free to follow their dream. So the club was set up and soon letters arrived from around Australia asking for information. We now have members in every State and Territory of Australia. Our growth program has been controlled to allow us to put into motion the things that we said we would do, and now we feel that the time is right to promote our club more and take the next step. We arrange two National Get Togethers a year where members can come together and make everlasting friends as has already happened at our past Get Togethers.
We will push for the improvment of rest areas, road conditions, safety in Caravan Parks, proper amenities for the disabled, and all things that can make travel safer and more enjoyable for our members and all travellers. We are also a member of the Association of Caravan Clubs of Victoria as well as being affiliated with VKS 737, the 4WD Radio Network for the benefit of members. We are also part of a lobby group of Australian RV Clubs promoting and helping fellow travellers to have safe and enjoyable travels.
We fully support the drive for a CB channel for travellers whether they are towing a van or steering a motorhome. This has been talked about for many years and always placed in the too hard basket. Our club has sent over 2,000 CH. 18 stickers Australia wide with very positive feedback from the truckies. As part of the proceeds of the sale of these stickers, the Royal Flying Doctor Service receives donations. If by our efforts we can save one truck and caravan smash, then it has been worthwhile.
We will be pleased to have you join us.
